The Ant Part

I’m often asked “why geekant?” this page answers the ant part…

I have an ant (as a pet, she is a fertilized Lasius Niger (L. Niger) AKA common garden ant (black). Certainly a common ant in Lincolnshire. She is in a colony container in my garden. Ants are fascinating communal creatures, each ant is assigned a specific role in life, this role helps the colony expand and grow, survive, produce other colonies and even fight other rival colonies. VERY INTERESTING!
